Itâs that time of year againâRed Ribbon Week is here! đ This special week is all about raising awareness to prevent alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and violence. It all started back in 1985 to honor the brave DEA Special Agent Enrique Camarena.
Weâre excited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week at LES from October 28th to October 31st! Letâs come together to promote a healthy and safe community! The cost to dress for Red Ribbon Week is $4, and You must pay the $4 on Monday to participate.đ
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) for generously hosting this impactful seminar designed for our JAG students across SLP. Your support plays a vital role in their educational journey. A special thank you to Ms. Ventress for her unwavering dedication in guiding our students and helping them navigate their paths toward lasting success and bright futures.
Congratulations to Bentley McCraney. She was awarded the McDonaldâs at Louisiana Ave. & Community Chronicles magazine âArtist of the monthâ for October. She received a prize package which includes a certificate, a McDonaldâs gift card, and her coloring page design is featured in this monthâs magazine issue.
A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Latasha Aggison, Ms. Marlena Chavis-Cane, and the Kiwanis Club of Opelousas for honoring our most improved 3rd-grade students. These remarkable individuals have shown incredible growth from the beginning of the school year to the end of the first nine weeks.

Students may wear solid color jackets with tam hats, but itâs important to remember to remove them when inside the building. We recommend reviewing our dress code policy to support a cohesive and respectful atmosphere for all.

Join us in showing your support for our Lawtell Trojans on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Northwest High School as they go head-to-head with the North Central Hurricanes. This exciting game will be our Homecoming event, so let's come together and fill the stands to cheer on our LES Trojans! Game time is a 5:30 PM Please note that we are enforcing the Clear Bag policy in accordance with the guidelines set by the St. Landry School Board. For the safety and security of all attendees, only clear bags will be allowed into the venue. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

The Homecoming Dance is next Saturday, October 12th from 6pm-9pm. Join us in the gym for dancing, concession, and the real homecoming experience. Tickets will be sold starting on Monday. Please make sure to purchase them for $5 before 3:00pm on Friday, October 11th. No money can be taken at the door. Parents, please remember this event is a lock in and students must be picked up at the door at 9pm. See yâall there!

Our Principal, Mrs. James had the opportunity to step back into the classroom as the teacher. Living up to the saying "Once a teacher, Always a teacher", Mrs. James assisted students with presenting their "About me" slides in JAG class, giving them tips and tricks to improve their writing and public speaking skills.
