SLP Summer School Students  Summer School starts Monday, June 5th at Opelousas High School. Students will arrive between 7:45 to 8am. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Attendance is mandatory, only ONE excused or unexcused absence is allowed. Dress code is student uniform and will be strictly enforced. NO SAGGING! Students need to bring head phones, note tablet and writing utensils.  Bus routes are attached on the picture.

From Mr. Thomas Guidelines for Graduation HONORS STUDENTS ‱ On Thursday, May 18 between 9:30am to 12:30pm, Honors students will be required to come to OHS and pick up stoles and cords. You will report to the meeting room (Room 14) next to the main office. ALL GRADUATES ‱ Graduation night, you will arrive at Our Savior’s Church at 6:00pm. Graduating Seniors will enter through a marked secondary door for check-in; guests will enter through the main entrance. (Leave your phones with your parents.) ‱ BALLOONS AND GIFT ARRANGEMENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE CHURCH. Please leave them in the car; there will be no holding area. ‱ Behavior at the graduation ceremony: o Process and be seated quietly and respectfully. o Be respectful to all speaker o Do not chew gum or consume food or drinks during the ceremony o Do not throw confetti and yell on stage when receiving the diploma ‱ Seniors must adhere to the attire guidelines for Graduation: Males: white shirt with black necktie or bowtie and black dress pants with black dress shoes or black gym shoes (black socks please). Young men will need to be clean-shaven. No facial hair (or must be well groomed). Females: dress or dress pants (black) with black shoes (comfortable high heels or dress flats). Dress or skirt cannot be more than 4 inches above the knees. Young ladies may wear earrings but no other type of piercings. Graduation Caps: cannot be decorated (as stated by school board and principal) and must be worn flat on the head with the point in the middle. (no hair over your eyes) Graduation Gown: must be ironed and wrinkle-free and without decorations Cords/Stoles/Medals:  Cords and honors stole must be worn under the white overlay; only the orange honor stole is allowed to be worn.  Medals are worn on top of white overlay; lapel pins should be worn on the left side of the overlay.  The cap is worn flat on the head. Make sure to secure it.  Tassels are usually worn on the right side and shifted left after receiving a diploma. This will be announced, and you will shift tassels as a class.
