St. Landry Parish Basketball Tournament will begin tomorrow, Thursday, December 15th. Please come out and support your team! Don't forget to adhere to the clear bag policy for all athletic events for the safety of all attendees, players and coaches.
We hope that everyone was safe during todayâs weather events. Tomorrow is PJ day! We will have a great time wearing our PJâs while watching movies and drinking hot chocolate!
Pictures with Santa has been rescheduled for Friday beginning at 8. We will be busy during that time, preparing for the parade. We ask that if you are still interested in pictures, that you report to campus with your children beginning at 8 and escort them to the picture room. No student will be photographed without a parent. We will provide refunds, after we return from the holidays, to anyone who has paid and cannot photograph. Students can still dress up for pictures and can change into parade clothes afterwards.

Tuesday, December 13 - Wear Western wear
Wednesday, December 14 - Wear your Christmas best attire
Thursday, December 15 - Wear your favorite Christmas PJs
Friday, December 16 - Parade day at 10:00 am.- dress as your class theme
Note: Students that are not participating in the dress up days should be in regular school uniforms.

Our annual Christmas parade will be Friday, December 16, 2022 at 10:00 am. Please come out and support our students. We look forward to seeing everyone.
Monday: Hawaiian Christmas Day

Tomorrow is the last day that the Elf Christmas store will be open. It is the students last day to shop for items.
Parents we have a massive amount of sweaters, sweatshirts, and coats in our lost and found. We will be experiencing some cooler weather next week. If your child is missing outerwear, please call the office or have the student come by.
Ms. Payne will not be running tomorrow.
Mr. Irving's bus is broken down. The Lebeau Housing project children will be dropped off by Mrs. Payne's bus. All other riders will need to be picked up at school.

Reminders:
- Mobile Market will be at Palmetto Elementary on December 6, 2022 from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
- Toy Drive this week - Students can bring an unwrapped toy for our toy drive. Any student that brings an unwrapped toy will receive 10 bronco bucks.
- Students are allowed to dress up on Friday, December 9, 2022 with their ugly sweaters.
- Our Christmas Elf Store will be open from December 1 - December 16, 2022.

Reminders:
Flu and COVID vaccinations will be given to students on December 9, 2022. Forms were sent home earlier this week. If you would like for your child to take one or both of these vaccinations, we need to have permission slips returned by tomorrow. There are two permission slips that need to be signed, one for Flu and one from COVID. These vaccinations are only for students who were not previously vaccinated.
Tomorrow is free jean day (shirts and jeans) for a bag of candy!

All warnings have expired at this time and we are resuming normal operations.

We are aware that there is a tornado warning until 12:45 pm in the Palmetto area. Students have been evacuated from all portable buildings and are safe in the cafeteria. We will continue to be on a soft "lock down" until it is safe to return to normal operations.

- The Elf Store will open on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Prices range from $1.00 to $5.00. Students can purchase gifts and will come home with them wrapped ready to be put under the Christmas tree.
- On Friday, December 2, 2022, students can wear jeans for a bag of candy.
- Glow-in-the-dark bike ride on Saturday, December 3, 2022! Ride leaves at 5:30 PM from Town Hall. Sponsored by Palmetto Elementary 4-H Club and The Village of Palmetto.
- Mobile Market will be at Palmetto Elementary on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.
