OPELOUSAS, LA -- Due to forecasted precipitation causing possible hazardous road conditions and widespread flooding parish-wide, all schools and head start centers will dismiss early today, May 18, 2021. The overall safety of our students and employees necessitates the early dismissal of schools.
Dismissal times are as follows:
SLATS/Alternative - 1:30 PM;
MACA/BioMed - 1:40 PM;
High School/Junior High - 2:00 PM;
Head Start - 2:00 PM;
North Central/Palmetto - 2:00 PM;
Elementary/Middle Schools - 2:20 PM - 2:40 PM (This is dependent on bus arrival from first routes.);
*Car riders should contact the school for pick-up times.
We will continue to consult with school administrators, the National Weather Service, and the Office of Emergency Preparedness in the decision-making progress regarding the closing of schools.

Parents, we are going into a soft lockdown meaning that students will be able to move around but classrooms will remain locked after transitions. The suspect they were looking for off campus is in police custoday. Everyone on campus is safe. Thank you all for being understanding.
